Gales Hockley

The Gales Hockley 'Invitation' is the premier Men's over-50s competition in Hampshire, held annually since 1971.

Celebrating its 53rd edition, the 2025 event will see 41 golf clubs from across Hampshire (and some from neighbouring counties) compete in a knockout format to be crowned champions.

The competition culminates in a final held in September at Hockley Golf Club, unless Hockley reaches the final, in which case a neutral venue will be used.

Competition Rules & Format:

Competitors must be at least 50 years old by the date of the draw, which took place on Thursday, 20th February 2025.

Format: 9 players per team. Singles match play. Tees: Medal

Each game will be over eighteen holes and played to a definite result.

Handicap Allowances:

The maximum individual handicap index is 16.

A total team Aggregate Handicap Index limit of 82 on the day of the match.
